How Much Does a Website Cost in North Cyprus? What Really Sets the Price

“How much does a website cost?” is the first question almost every business owner in North Cyprus asks me, and it is a fair one. The honest answer is that the price depends on what the website needs to do for you. A one-page site for a new café and a multilingual property portal with hundreds of listings are both “websites”, but they are very different projects.

I am a web designer and WordPress developer in Famagusta. In this guide I explain what actually sets the cost of a website, which costs come once and which come every year, and how to get an accurate quote without paying for things you do not need.

Why there is no single price for a website

A website is closer to a tailored suit than a product on a shelf. Two businesses on the same street can need completely different things: one wants customers to call, another wants them to book online, a third needs the site in four languages for international buyers. The price follows the work, so the clearer you are about your goals, the clearer the quote becomes.

8 things that shape the cost of your website

1. The number of pages and sections

A focused business website usually has a home page, an about page, one page per main service and a contact page. Every extra page adds design, content and testing time, so start with the pages your customers really need and add more later.

2. A ready-made theme or a custom design

A well-chosen WordPress theme, adapted to your brand, is the quickest route to a professional look. A fully custom design takes longer, but it makes sense when your brand needs to stand out in a crowded market such as real estate or hospitality.

3. Languages

North Cyprus businesses often serve customers in English, Turkish, German, Russian or Persian. Every language means translated pages, menus and forms, and right-to-left languages need their own layout checks. I explain how this works in my guide to multilingual WordPress websites.

4. Features and integrations

Contact forms and WhatsApp buttons are simple. Online booking, property listings with search filters, an online shop, payment gateways or a connection to your CRM take more planning and testing. List the features you need on day one and the ones that can wait.

5. Content: text and photos

If you already have good text and photos, the project moves faster. If they need to be written, translated or photographed, include that in the plan. Strong content is what turns visitors into enquiries, so it is worth getting right.

6. Speed and SEO setup

A website only brings in customers if people can find it and it opens quickly on a phone. Page titles, structured data, a sitemap, Search Console and speed optimisation are part of every site I build, because they decide how the site performs on Google. My plain-language guide to Core Web Vitals explains why speed matters.

7. Hosting, domain and email

Your domain name, hosting and business email are small yearly costs, but quality matters. Good hosting keeps the site fast and secure; cheap hosting can undo all the work that went into the design.

8. Care after launch

WordPress, its plugins and your content all need regular updates and backups. A simple care plan keeps the site secure and lets you ask for small changes without starting a new project each time.

One-off costs and yearly costs

It helps to think about your website budget in two parts. The one-off cost covers planning, design, building, content and launch. The yearly costs cover the domain, hosting, email and care. Knowing both from the start means there are no surprises later, and it makes it easy to compare quotes from different web designers fairly.

How to get an accurate quote

You will get a faster and more precise quote if you prepare a few things before the first call:

  • What the website should achieve: calls, WhatsApp messages, bookings, sales or trust.
  • A rough list of pages and the languages you need.
  • Two or three websites you like, and what you like about them.
  • The features you need now and the ones that can come later.
  • Your ideal launch date.

If you are still comparing people, my article on how to choose a web designer lists the questions worth asking before you hire anyone.

How to keep your website budget under control

  • Launch the core first. Go live with the pages that bring in customers, then add the rest in a second phase.
  • Choose a platform you can edit. With WordPress and Elementor you can change text, photos and prices yourself, so small updates cost nothing.
  • Reuse what works. Good existing photos, texts and logos can often be refreshed instead of recreated.
  • Redesign instead of rebuilding when the structure of your current site is sound. My article on signs your website needs a redesign helps you decide.

Planning an app as well?

Many businesses that start with a website later add a mobile app for bookings, orders or loyalty. Because I also build Flutter apps for Android and iPhone, your website and app can share content and customer data from the start, which saves work on both. Frequently asked questions

Is a cheap website a good idea for a small business?

A simple website can be a great start, as long as it is fast, works well on phones and is set up for Google. What costs a business most is a site that looks fine but never brings in enquiries, so judge every quote by what the website will do for you.

Do I have to pay every year for my website?

The design and build are paid once. The domain, hosting, email and care are yearly costs that keep the website online, fast and secure.

Can I add more languages or features later?

Yes. A WordPress website built on a clean structure can grow with your business, so you can add languages, pages, booking or an online shop when you are ready.
