Web Design in Kyrenia (Girne): Websites That Bring Bookings and Enquiries

October 20, 2026 WordPress

Kyrenia, or Girne, is where many visitors fall in love with North Cyprus. The old harbour, the castle, the mountain villages above the town and the long coast towards Esentepe and Lapta bring holidaymakers, property buyers and international residents all year round. Most of them plan their trip, their dinner or their new home on a phone, often from another country. For a Kyrenia business, that means the website does a large part of the selling before anyone walks through the door.

I’m a WordPress and Flutter developer based in Famagusta, and I design websites for businesses across North Cyprus (see my guides to web design in Famagusta and web design in Nicosia). This guide is about Kyrenia: who your online visitors are, what your website has to do for them, and how to plan a site that turns visits into bookings and enquiries.

Who visits a Kyrenia business website

In Kyrenia, a large share of your customers are not local yet. They are comparing you with other places from abroad, usually in English, and they decide quickly. A typical mix looks like this:

  • Holidaymakers looking for a villa, a hotel, a boat trip, a diving course or a table with a harbour view.
  • Property buyers and investors from the UK, Europe, Turkey and further away, who research for months before they visit.
  • International residents and retirees who need reliable local services: clinics, builders, cleaners, schools, shops and repair work.
  • Local residents who search in Turkish and expect the same quality as the English version.

Each group arrives with a different question, but all of them want the same three things: to understand what you offer in a few seconds, to trust that you are real and reliable, and to contact you without effort.

What a Kyrenia website needs

Photos that sell the place

Kyrenia sells with its views: the harbour at sunset, a pool facing the sea, a terrace in Bellapais. Good, real photos are worth more than any slogan. The design job is to show them large and sharp while keeping the pages light, so that they still open fast on a mobile connection. I compress and size every image for the screen it is shown on, which is one of the reasons the sites I build stay quick.

Bookings and enquiries in one tap

A guest who has to search for a phone number is a guest you may lose. Every important page should have a clear next step: WhatsApp, click-to-call, a short enquiry form or a booking request with dates and number of guests. For villas and hotels, my checklist for hotel and villa websites goes through what guests look for before they book directly.

English first, Turkish alongside, more if you need it

Most international visitors read English, and local customers prefer Turkish. Many Kyrenia businesses also welcome guests who read German or Russian. A proper multilingual site gives every language its own address, menus and forms, so search engines can show the right version to the right person. My guide to multilingual WordPress websites explains how this works with WPML.

Speed on holiday Wi-Fi and mobile data

Visitors often browse on hotel Wi-Fi or roaming data. A heavy site that takes six seconds to load loses them. On a real estate website I work on, a colleague and I raised the median mobile PageSpeed score from 51 to 75 and the desktop score from 81 to 97 without changing how the site looks. You can read what Core Web Vitals mean for a WordPress site for the details.

Being found for Kyrenia searches

People search for things like “boat trip Kyrenia”, “villa with pool Girne”, “dentist in Kyrenia” or “apartments for sale Esentepe”. Pages written for those searches, your address and map, opening hours, reviews and structured data help Google connect your business with the town and the areas around it, from Alsancak and Lapta to Çatalköy and Esentepe.

Websites for Kyrenia businesses

  • Villas, hotels and holiday rentals: photo galleries, room or villa pages, availability requests, location and direct contact so guests can book without a middleman.
  • Restaurants and cafés: menus that are easy to read on a phone, reservation requests, opening hours and a map to the harbour or the village.
  • Boat trips, diving and tours: clear tour pages with times, prices, what is included and a simple way to reserve a place.
  • Real estate agencies and developers: searchable listings, project pages and enquiry forms in several languages. See my guide to real estate website design.
  • Clinics and local services: treatments or services, team profiles and appointment requests that international residents can understand.

Want to go a step further with a mobile app, for example for guest information, table bookings, loyalty points or property listings? I also build Flutter apps for Android and iPhone. See my app development services in North Cyprus and my real estate app guide.

Already have a website?

Many Kyrenia businesses already have a site that was built years ago. If it is slow, hard to update or does not bring enquiries, a redesign can keep what works and fix the rest. My article on when and how to redesign a website helps you decide.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with businesses in Kyrenia?

Yes. I’m based in Famagusta and work with clients across North Cyprus, including Kyrenia (Girne), Alsancak, Lapta, Çatalköy and Esentepe. We can meet in person, and most of the project runs smoothly online.

Can my website take bookings directly?

Yes. Depending on your business, it can be a simple booking request by form or WhatsApp, or a booking system with availability. We choose the option that fits how you work today.

Which languages should my Kyrenia website have?

Start with the languages your customers actually use, usually English and Turkish. Other languages can be added later without rebuilding the site.

How much does a website cost?

It depends on the number of pages, languages and features. My guide on how much a website costs in North Cyprus explains what sets the price, and how to choose a web designer helps you compare offers.
